David Langley
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Langley RM, following a period of illness, on Sunday 29th June 2025, aged 83 years old. He was surrounded by his loving family.
David’s military career followed early years as an art student and Engineer Apprentice and spanned 26 years as a Royal Marine Commando, where he retired in 1985, as a Regimental Sergeant Major Royal Marines. He leaves behind his wife Pauline, of 61 years, his daughter Paula, son-in law Steve Gildert, his two granddaughters Natalie and Naomi and two great-grandchildren Alexandra and Riley.
After the Royal Marines, David had a successful civilian career in Risk Management in fast moving retail goods, finally directing and owning his own successful business in Cheshire, where he has lived for over 29 years. David’s values were visible to see; he loved his family, his friends (from wherever they come) and the true British way of life and all those that share it with him.
His passion and commitment to our country was undoubted and he was proud to establish and lead the ReformUK Macclesfield Branch. He was clear that we need to use all our expertise and ability to re-establish those standards which appear to have fallen away over the years.
His belief was that the vast majority of our countrymen, with proper leadership and guidance and above all honesty and transparency can re-balance, all that we know and love about our country. He was working to achieve this with us, to his very end.
We shall remember this courageous, generous, and honourable man.

Alan Miles
I have lived in Macclesfield for over 25 years. Following a long career as a Company Director in the UK Manufacturing Industry and co-owner of an international Executive Search Recruitment firm. I believe that it is essential that we break the tired, two-party system which has consistently failed our country. I believe in common sense policies, which will lower taxes, deliver safe streets for our women and children and create hope and optimism: to create a society worth fighting for.

Paula Gildert
I am a Physicist and Chartered Electrical Engineer and have held executive roles in life sciences, in manufacturing and supply chain, strategic procurement and R&D operations. I have lived and worked in Macclesfield for 29 years with my husband and family with time spent in Switzerland and the USA. I am passionate about making the UK a country where families, communities and business thrive and changing the way we make this happen.

Johnathan Herod
I was born in the back bedroom of my Grandma’s council house in Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester. Although we lacked material things, my family and my Country gave me every opportunity to work hard and to succeed in life. I attended Sandbach (grammar) School whilst living in Congleton, before studying medicine in Birmingham.
My specialty was Gynaecological Oncology and I was a Senior Consultant in the Merseyside and Cheshire Gynaecological Oncology Network. I worked for many Regional and National organisations including the National Cervical Screening Committee before being appointed as the Medical Director of the Liverpool Women’s Hospital. For the last 10 years I worked in the Women’s Wellness and Research Centre in Doha, Qatar as the Director of Transformation and lead for Gynaecological Oncology for Qatar. Now retired I have moved back to the UK and to Macclesfield.
Although I never imagined entering politics, I have been dismayed by how badly our Nation is crumbling. We have been at the mercy of incompetent and self-serving career politicians, who have failed miserably to represent the views and needs of the people they were elected to serve. It is time for people like me to use my experiences of life and my commitment to repay the debt I owe to a nation that gave me all that I have.
I hope for a future that will give all of our citizens those same opportunities in the future and in which we reinforce traditional British values and standards of behaviour. Sadly, we may only have one election left to prevent an irreversible decline that may be beyond redemption. I hope that my colleagues and I can persuade you that Reform UK represents the best, and indeed the only chance, that we can get our nation back.

Mark De Staedtler
Although born in Wythenshawe, I have lived most of my life in Macclesfield. At the age of 11, I was fortunate to earn a scholarship to King’s School, which set me on a path through college and then university, where I obtained my Law Degree.
For most of my working life, I have been involved in running businesses — first in credit management and corporate litigation, and for the last ten years alongside my wife in her natural skincare company. Over four decades in business, I have faced almost every obstacle imaginable — economic, political, or circumstantial. The lesson is always the same: you adapt, and you find solutions.
Today, however, I see a government making irrational and harmful decisions at a time when what we need most is stability, growth, and security. Instead, ordinary citizens are being burdened with unreasonable demands. I see first-hand the immense pressure on families, the financial and emotional pain created by policies that lack both economic sense and moral foundation. It too often feels as though the people exist to serve the government — rather than the government serving the people.
We are given only one life to enjoy, yet people are being pushed into debt slavery and endless taxation, with future generations condemned to pay for today’s incompetence. I believe this is not only wrong — it is immoral and cruel.
Politics is a new journey for me, but with your support for Reform UK, I am determined to stand up for our community, defend the values that define Britain, and help build a country that offers security, opportunity, and pride for us all.

Brittany De Staedtler
I’m an American transplant from the Deep South holding dual nationality in Britain, now proudly rooted in the Macclesfield area for the past 20 years. I’ve been a qualified cosmetic chemist for over 30 years, developing hundreds of formulations across skincare, wellness, and personal care. Alongside that, I’ve founded and led multiple successful businesses — including the cult British cosmetic brand Posh Brats — with a focus on brand strategy, product innovation, and consumer trust.
I bring a no-nonsense approach to messaging, a deep respect for accountability, and a fierce belief in the power of clear communication. I have decades of brand development, and a lifelong passion for cutting through noise with clear, impactful messaging. I joined Reform because I’m tired of the excuses — and because I know how to get things done. I’m not here for political theatre — I’m here because I believe we deserve better.
