🪖 Britain Can’t Defend Itself — And They Know It

Reform UK’s plan to rebuild our military, secure our borders, and stop outsourcing national security

Let’s be blunt — we couldn’t fight off a damp sponge right now, let alone protect ourselves from an actual threat.

While other countries are investing in serious defence, Britain’s been busy slashing troop numbers, downsizing equipment, and sending soldiers on “inclusion training.”
We’ve got generals making TikToks while our Navy runs out of fuel and our army gets smaller than some EU police forces.

And what are we spending money on instead?
– DEI departments in the Ministry of Defence
– Overseas aid to countries that hate us
– Endless defence “modernisation” reports that sit on shelves collecting dust

Meanwhile, our kit is outdated, recruitment’s in the bin, and nobody in government seems to give a toss.

🚫 What’s Gone Wrong?

– The British Army is now the smallest it’s been since Napoleon was around
– Recruitment targets are consistently missed — too many good people driven away
– Troops stuck in mouldy barracks while money vanishes into admin
– Military veterans treated like an afterthought
– No real long-term strategy — just flashy announcements and budget cuts

And while all this goes on?
We’re sending billions abroad, letting dodgy states buy up key UK infrastructure, and leaving our actual national defence on life support.

🔧 Reform UK’s Plan: Bring Back Strength, Strategy and Sovereignty

We’re not here to “restructure” or do another white paper.

We’re here to rebuild Britain’s defences properly — like the country depends on it. Because it does.

Here’s how:

– Increase defence spending to 2.5% of GDP immediately — then 3%
– Stop sending billions in overseas aid and redirect it to our own forces
– Bring military housing and accommodation up to scratch — no more barracks horror stories
– Put recruitment back in the hands of the armed forces — not Capita
– Scrap political ideology in the ranks — the military is for defence, not activism
– Invest in modern kit, proper strategy, and rapid response capabilities
– Prioritise veterans — housing, healthcare, job transition support. Full stop.

🛡️ A Country That Can’t Defend Itself Isn’t a Country — It’s a Target

This isn’t about posturing. It’s about reality.

– Russia’s on the move.
– China’s getting bolder.
– Terror threats are real.
– Cybersecurity is a joke.
– And the people in charge are asleep at the wheel.

Reform UK will end the decline, stop outsourcing our safety, and bring back a military that’s respected, resourced, and ready.

Britain should never be a soft target.
